PRINT DESK / THE LITTLE NIGHT GARDEN
Take just the
sheets you need.
The sheet map
COLOUROUTLINETwo faces, each with two side tabs. The white openings are removed.

Cut the opening in C. Leave D solid, including the moon.

Keep both rectangles whole. Dashed lines are folds, not cuts.

Page 7 is the instruction sheet and 50 mm scale check in both packs. Print pages 1–3 + 7 for colour, or 4–6 + 7 to draw your own. Both formats make the same 120 × 100 mm faces.
BEFORE YOU PRINT
Keep the size honest.
Select the paper size that is actually in your printer. Choose 100% / Actual size, single-sided, and turn off Fit, Shrink and borderless enlargement. The sheet previews above are for choosing pages; download the PDF for printing.
Measure the bar on page 7 with a ruler. If it is 48 mm rather than 50 mm, the print is at 96%: the nominal 120 mm face has become 115.2 mm. Change the print settings and try again before cutting.
Print all pieces with the same settings. Mixing a scaled front with full-size sides is a fit problem even when each individual sheet looks tidy.
PAPER & COLOUR
Try the fold first.
Plain paper is useful for a dry run. For the final piece, use a stock supported by your printer and test a spare 20 mm accordion panel. It should hold a crease without splitting. A face can be stiffer than a side strip, but very thick tabs can resist folding.
The colour edition uses solid ink areas; printed colour will depend on your paper and printer. The outline pack keeps the same geometry and reduces colour coverage. Pencil or colour the faces before assembly, and let wet media dry flat before scoring.
Do not print the pack double-sided: the colour and outline editions are alternatives, not a front/back pair.
Make it your own. Keep the credit.

The accordion-supported tunnel-book mechanism is established. For further learning, see the National Museum of Women in the Arts lesson on landscape and tunnel books. Our artwork, dimensions and instructions are original; the museum’s worksheet and art are not included in this pack.
